The Six Blades of Kojiro is one of the most memorable Mythic Tales in Ghost of Tsushima, testing Jin Sakai against five formidable Straw Hat assassins before facing Kojiro himself. To unlock the final duel and claim the coveted Kensei Armor, players must track down these deadly swordmasters hidden across Toyotama. Finding each location requires careful navigation through Toyotama's diverse landscapes, from misty coasts to secluded waterfalls.
Starting the Mythic Tale in Umugi Cove
Before hunting down the assassins, you must initiate the quest by speaking to Yamato, the musician located in Umugi Cove. He recounts the legend of Kojiro and his five elite Straw Hat followers who stalk the region. Once the tale finishes, five distinct duel markers appear across Toyotama, allowing you to challenge them in any order.
Locating the Five Straw Hat Assassin Duels
The Duel Among the Spider Lilies takes place in northern Toyotama near the Field of the Equinox Flower, where Yasumasa awaits amid vibrant red blooms. Further east along the shoreline, the Duel in the Drowning Marsh pits Jin against Hirotsune in a shallow water arena. Near Mount Odan, Kanefusa tests your parrying skills in the Duel Under Falling Leaves surrounded by golden trees.
Heading toward the coast, the Duel Under Autumn Leaves features Tomotsugu in a scenic coastal glade near Yoshinaka Bay. Finally, Kiyochika guards the entrance to a rocky inlet in the Duel of Breaking Waves along the western coast. Defeating each master requires mastering stance switches and timing parries effectively against aggressive sword techniques.
Facing Kojiro at Omi Monastery
After defeating all five Straw Hats, return to Yamato at Umugi Cove to reveal Kojiro's location. The final showdown occurs at the entrance to the Omi Monastery, hidden behind a waterfall in a dramatic cavern setting. Defeating Kojiro requires extreme precision and patient defensive play, as his unblockable attacks deal massive damage.
Rewards and Key Takeaways
Conquering the Six Blades of Kojiro rewards Jin with the Kensei Armor, which greatly boosts Resolve generation and ghost weapon damage. This quest line serves as an exceptional test of high-level dueling mechanics in Ghost of Tsushima. Preparing appropriate charms and upgrading your katana before these encounters will ensure a smooth victory over Toyotama's finest swordsmen.
